The problem you describe could be due to a production fault with the pack of food you have opened or it could be due to a particular ingredient or texture that disagrees with your cat. The best thing to do if you think a food could have made your pet ill is to contact the individual manufacturer. They will certainly want to log any potential problems and address any issues that have arisen. Many manufacturers do have a money back guarantee but if there is any evidence that the food is faulty they may also want to refund the cost of the product. In each case talk to the manufacturer concerned.
